Soju is like rice vodka. You can mix it with beer, take it as a shot, or fill a shot of soju, fill another shot glass with Pepsi, and then put both of those in a beer glass, fill the rest up with beer, and chug the rest in one gulp. The oldest person you are with pours the soju, and everyone waits until the oldest person is done pouring all the drinks. After, everyone turns away from the oldest person, and takes their shot. And then they pour you more. It is impolite to not drink what is poured for you, and Koreans will also always make sure your cup is filled.. so be weary.
The first time I tried soju, I was out with Kristian, Kt, and Marcy. I spent most of the evening throwing up in the toilet, and even threw up in a popcorn bowl. This was a very drunken night, and I'm grateful that two of the three of them still talk to me. I tried all three of the mixtures of soju listed above, and I can honestly say I have never been more drunk. Soju gives you these things that I have so lovingly named " Soju Shivers" Loren, Hannah, and I have all experienced this. You start shaking uncontrollably and go from really hot, to really cold. You probably get alcohol poisoning, in all honesty..
The hangover the next morning is death. I have never experienced a hangover like I did after I drank Soju. I felt like death, and I couldn't willingly eat anything for around 19 hours after I started drinking. Be warned. But have fun!
